STEER Introduces XLNT+ Twin-Screw Extrusion Platform for Value-Driven Compounding
Standardised platform combines shorter delivery timelines, simplified equipment selection and lifecycle support across core polymer applications
STEER World, a global engineering company specialising in materials transformation technologies, today announced the introduction of XLNT+, its standardised, value-engineered co-rotating twin-screw extrusion platform for core polymer compounding applications.
XLNT+ is aimed at value-focused masterbatch compounders seeking to balance performance, operational simplicity and investment, including manufacturers making their first investment in compounding equipment and businesses looking to expand capacity.
As manufacturers evaluate a growing range of lower-cost equipment options, the decision is increasingly about more than the initial purchase price. Long-term equipment reliability, access to genuine spare parts, technical support and service continuity can have a significant bearing on operating costs and production uptime over the lifecycle of the machine. XLNT+ has been positioned to offer customers value at the point of purchase without compromising on these longer-term considerations.
The standardised platform also helps reduce the technical and procurement complexity involved in setting up a compounding line. Designed as a complete extrusion system, XLNT+ integrates the extrusion platform with upstream and downstream equipment, reducing the need for customers to evaluate multiple suppliers and configure individual components themselves. This can be particularly relevant for first-time buyers who may have limited in-house expertise in selecting and integrating extrusion equipment.
The platform can be delivered within 8 to 10 weeks from the date of order, compared with delivery timelines of 12 weeks or more for comparable imported systems.
Commenting on the introduction, Sunil Dutt, Business Head, STEER World, said, āFor many manufacturers, particularly those investing in compounding capacity for the first time, the lowest upfront equipment price does not necessarily translate into the best long-term value. Reliability, access to technical expertise, spare parts availability and dependable lifecycle support are equally important. With XLNT+, our objective is to give customers a value-focused platform backed by the engineering experience and support ecosystem of an established OEM.ā
XLNT+ incorporates features including improved wear performance, balanced torque and RPM, push-button automation with visual controls, and a design that enables easier cleaning and maintenance.
A key differentiator is the support ecosystem behind the platform. Customers have access to STEERās local OEM technical expertise, genuine spare parts and lifecycle support, helping reduce dependence on remote overseas suppliers for ongoing service and parts availability. Backed by over three decades of engineering experience and an established customer and service presence across India and international markets, STEER is positioned to support customers through installation, operation, maintenance and future equipment requirements.
The platform can address a range of applications including colour masterbatch, white masterbatch, filler and additive masterbatch, and commodity polymers such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polystyrene (PS).
STEER expects demand for XLNT+ from value-focused masterbatch producers, particularly small- and mid-sized manufacturers, first-time equipment buyers and businesses undertaking capacity expansion, across India and international markets. The proposition is aimed at manufacturers seeking competitive investment economics while reducing the technical, procurement and lifecycle risks associated with choosing equipment primarily on upfront price.
